About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Hydrogeologist for employment in the Seattle, WA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Provide technical support for development of detailed subsurface investigation work plans
Conduct field work including soil logging, well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, slug test and aquifer tests
Conduct data analysis for slug tests and aquifer tests
Contribute directly to the preparation of technical project deliverables (e.g., boring logs, geologic cross-sections, capture zone reports, remedial investigations, and Phase II environmental site assessments)
Coordination and supervision of subcontractors
Job duties will involve both field and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required
Bachelor's degree inHydrogeology, Geography or relevant scientific discipline
0-2 years of related experience
Must be skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Project)
Energetic and detail oriented
Attention to detail
Strong writing and communication skills
Willingness to travel when required
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Masters degree in Hydrogeology
Good understanding of chemical fate and transport in groundwater and soil
Experience conducting slug tests and aquifer tests and analyzing results using AQTESOLV software or other relevant tools
Experience logging soils in accordance with Unified Soil Classification System
Familiarity with three-dimensional groundwater flow models and contaminant fate and transport models
40-hour HAZWOPER Health and Safety training
MS project experience is an asset
