Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Plant Operator I for employment in the Sarasota, Fl field office.

This position involves providing plant operations support to the existing Operations Team for a groundwater remediation system to treat chlorinated compounds. The treatment system includes extraction wells and pumps that transfer impacted water to the central plant. The central plant includes settling tanks and media filtration, and water treatment by ultraviolet light, granular activated carbon, and reverse osmosis. This is an hourly position where the plant staff works a rotating schedule so that plant operations are supervised 24-hours per day. Night shift and weekend work will be required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspection and maintenance of treatment system equipment both inside the treatment facility and off-facility at pump locations.

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out tasks

  • Other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to pass Medical Screen

  • Shift work required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Treatment plant experience

  • Water treatment experience

  • Understanding of process controls

  • Mechanically inclined

  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER

  • Lives locally
