Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM is seeking a talented Senior Remediation Engineer to join the Santa Barbara, CA office. The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert and group manager for the Santa Barbara office and will oversee the selection, design, installation, and operation and maintenance of various remediation systems. The candidate must be experienced in feasibility studies, pilot testing, and the preparation of CAPs / RAPs.
The candidate must be a technical expert in soil and groundwater treatment technologies including vapor extraction systems, air sparge systems, enhanced in-situ bioremediation (e.g. emulsified vegetable oil substrate injection), in-situ chemical reduction (e.g. calcium polysufide injection), ISCO injection (e.g. ozone, persulfate), etc. System optimization and troubleshooting experience is required. Also, the candidate must have experience working at refineries and other industrial facilities (e.g. aerospace manufacturing facilities, former manufactured gas plants, petrochemical facilities, etc.)
The successful candidate will work closely with the AECOM Project Managers and Site Managers to assure the treatment systems are maintained in a cost effective manner and that the required up times are maintained. The candidate will be responsible for providing oversight, management and mentoring of engineering staff and also be a strong leader in AECOM behavior-based safety program.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
15+ years experience
PE registration in California
40-hour HAZWOPER Certification, 8-hour refresher, 8-hour Site Supervisor certification
Requires excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
Proven personnel and project management experience
Proficiency in remedial treatment systems technology and design, operation & maintenance
Experience with feasibility studies and remedial action plans, remedial design documents and engineering cost estimates
Technical expert in design, installation, and operation and maintenance of various remediation systems
Technically skilled in PLCs and PCS for real time computing and Microsoft Access and Excel
Master's Degree preferred
Qualified Construction SWPPP Developer and Practitioner (QSD/QSP)
