Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.
The Transportation Division of AECOM has an immediate need for a detail-oriented, experienced Change Order Cost Estimator for our program management team for Caltrain’s $2B Peninsula Corridor Electrification Program. You will fill a critical role in the successful delivery of one of the most significant transit infrastructure programs in Northern California, electrifying 50 miles of a commuter rail system from San Francisco to San Jose.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Report to the agency’s Program Management Director
Develop independent cost estimates (ICE) for proposed changes in the design-builder’s scope of work.
Coordinate with scheduler who will analyze the schedule impact
Compare and contrast design-builder’s pricing with ICE and prepare pre-negotiation position document for the Construction Manager’s (CM’s) use in negotiation
Participate in negotiation meetings with design-builder when CM requests
Prepare Record of Negotiation when requested
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
11+ years of experience estimating electrical power distribution systems including high voltage
Experience with transportation projects
Experience with design-build projects, and estimating design and construction changes
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with federally funded projects, especially FTA-funded projects
Experience negotiating change orders on design-build contracts
Experience on rail transit projects
