Job Summary

The Transportation Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in the San Jose office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an academic and working knowledge in Traffic Engineering, specific to traffic operations using industry required simulation software. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including traffic planning, data analysis and traffic analysis.

This position will be a key member of the Northern California Transportation Department, responsible for leading and supporting traffic planning/engineering projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the continued growth of the transportation planning business

  • Interact with both clients and staff

  • Make professional presentations to clients or agency representatives

  • Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM

  • Perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation

  • Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks and perform capacity analysis on roadway networks

  • Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning/engineering software including micro-simulation

  • Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects into design

  • Any other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience including, experience in traffic operations and/or traffic engineering experience that includes traffic operations using Vissim and/or Synchro, traffic impact studies, traffic signal coordination, traffic signal controller programming, and corridor studies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
