The Transportation Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer for immediate employment in the San Jose or Oakland office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an academic or working knowledge in Traffic Engineering. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including planning and design development.
This position will be a key member of the Transportation Department in San Francisco Metro Area, responsible supporting ITS planning/engineering projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidate will assist in the continued growth of the transportation business. This position will interact with both clients and staff. Incumbent will be required to make professional presentations to client or agency representatives from time to time, and will also interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM. Candidate will serve as a consultant to other engineers on systems planning, design, operations and applications related to Intelligent Transportation Systems elements and Advanced Transportation Management Systems.
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Developing project budgets, schedules and staffing plans
Monitoring and controlling work assignments and projects
Performing analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation
Performing planning, analysis and design development for ITS implementation projects on roadway networks
Preparing written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects into design
Interacting with multi-discipline and multi office trams
Developing planning documents
Developing preliminary and final designs
Interacting with project systems integrators
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering
10+ years of relevant professional experience
Strong knowledge of ITS with experience in analysis, surveillance, inventory and support of a variety of highway and Transportation Management Systems to design, manage and monitor the performance of electrical installations and transportation management systems
Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering
15+ years of relevant professional experience
