Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented, energetic, and personable FEMA general planner professional for immediate employment immediate employment in support of California disaster FEMA 4308_DR. The mid-level general planner professional will support the Water business line and other internal and external clients. Work will include responding as needed as directed by FEMA to prepare Public Assistance funding documents and estimated costs for federal program reimbursement under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and update infrastructure asset information and damage assessments as submitted by California Applicants for emergency and disaster relief reimbursements

  • Conduct damage and cost analysis

  • Create and manage cost and disaster assistance databases

  • Document procedures and develop funding assistance documentation

  • Work cooperatively with a wide range of staff at various levels within FEMA and within the Applicant’s organizations

  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation engineering or equivalent ability and/or experience working with FEMA when deployed on disaster assistance contracts for AECOM Water BL

  • FEMA security clearances

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience working on transportation and FEMA Public Assistance disaster assistance projects

  • Extensive knowledge of cost databases and range of costs acceptable to FEMA for funding reimbursement under the Public Assistance and Emergency Response programs

  • Knowledge of data collection techniques, photograph and related disaster damage assessments and necessary/relevant documentation requirements

  • Strong ability to work independently

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Solid communication skills

  • Proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in technical writing

  • Expertise with Project Worksheets and the Robert T. Stafford Act compliance

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years' experience preferred
