In partnership with the Americas Healthcare National Business Line Leader, AECOM is seeking visionary and dynamic leadership for our Pacific Region Healthcare Practice based in our San Francisco and Oakland CA offices, with the primary responsibility to lead and grow the Healthcare Architecture, Engineering, Interiors, Planning (Design Planning & Economics) & Consulting(Strategy +) regional business, with a focus on positioning AECOM as a fully integrated multi-disciplinary market leader in Healthcare Consulting, Master Planning and Design, and with the goal of driving innovation and excellence in Healthcare Design & Thought Leadership, Project Management, and Technical and Delivery success for local, regional and global Healthcare clients.
We are seeking an individual who is an industry-recognized leader in the Healthcare Architectural/Engineering Design & Planning Community in the Pacific Region, has strong client relationships, and an established client and industry network. The ideal candidate understands and has proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include client leadership, business development, financial oversight, design quality, project delivery, and has the ability to convey innovative design thinking and solutions.
Leadership Goals (in partnership with Americas Healthcare National Business Line Leader:
Responsible for developing and executing the healthcare strategic growth plan for their region, including developing and executing client outreach goals
Advocates design excellence and quality – leads the regional healthcare strategy in assuring that we are building client relationships, strategically pre-positioning winning and delivering the most important healthcare work in the region
Together with regional business line management committee, builds high performance healthcare design teams – soliciting and managing client feedback to align operations and allocate resources according to strategic priorities, recognizes and unleashes the potential of others by providing the needed environment, resources, coaching, experiences and other support, champions an innovative and collaborative culture
Champions change – makes the AECOM Healthcare vision understandable, creates buy-in to the vision by linking day-to-day work to the attainment of the vision, engages and mobilizes others to drive change, reduces organizational ambiguity
Professional design degree in Architecture (or applicable field) required
15+ years of experience, including 10+ years with OSHPD
Registered Architect, Engineer, Interior Designer or Planner
Deep knowledge of the regional healthcare marketplace with national and global reach, key clients, and industry trends is paramount
Experience and skill in strategic business development, client relationships and driving sales and revenue
The ability to support and lead healthcare business development activities through early client interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface
Acted as principal-in-charge of a large/multi-disciplined healthcare project /consultant team
Together with regional Managing Principal, Principal-In-Charge and Project Directors, established project scopes, work plans and work schedules
Successfully delivered healthcare projects within the clients’ budget / schedule requirements
Successfully delivered project scope and fee, delivering targeted profit to the firm interfaced with project managers on schedules, project review meetings, issues management and client expectations
An ability to travel and/or work remotely with teams
A strong desire to train, mentor and develop staff to grow their careers and the business
- 10+ years experience in the geographic marketplace
