Job Summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Architect to join our San Francisco, CA team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

  • Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility over finished plans, specifications, and material approval

  • Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and working drawings, develops details and edits specifications

  • Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations

  • Coordinates with consultants and subcontractors as needed

  • Interprets design

  • Works in partnership with the design team to create a set design and technical documents

  • Oversees and gives direction to junior staff as needed

  • Works on project architect teams of 5 to 10 people

  • Leads the development of contract documents

  • Provides input and editing of construction specifications

  • Coordinates with public jurisdictions and consultants

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years experience in the design and management of Healthcare and corporate/commercial

  • Projects Experience in all areas of Healthcare Architecture: Acute Care Hospitals (new and renovation), Out Patient Clinic's and Medical Office Buildings

  • Experience in all areas of corporate/commercial projects working with real estate brokers, developers, and corporate clients

  • Experience in overall client and project management including program development, proposal/ fee development, design management, project documentation management and construction administration management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years' experience preferred

  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCADD, Revit, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
