Position Title Environmental Compliance Manager

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Compliance Manager. The position will be based in our Oakland, California office, but the job responsibilities may include long term off-site work assignments at project sites throughout northern California. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Managing monitoring efforts for sensitive biological, cultural, and water resources
Inspection and monitoring of construction sites for compliance with resource agency permits
Coordinating with project team members, clients and construction supervisors and crewmembers
Providing environmental training to construction crews
Preparing field reports
Training environmental compliance staff and developing an ECM program for a major client
10+ years’ experience that includes at least 6 years experience in construction compliance monitoring and at least 3 years experience managing environmental inspectors and specialty monitors on large infrastructure projects
Expertise and training in environmental disciplines that include water quality, air quality, noise, biological resources, cultural resources and management of construction traffic impacts
Strong understanding of construction compliance requirements for large infrastructure projects
Excellent communication and writing skills are required
Effective team leader who can independently manage tasks with little supervision
Detail-oriented and have a strong work ethic
Willing to work at field locations but also comfortable and professional working in an office environment
Experience should include an in-depth understanding of environmental permits and technical issues for projects in northern California
Certification as a Construction General Permit Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) and/or Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) for projects in California
In-depth understanding of major environmental regulations, agencies, and permit types applicable to large infrastructure projects
