AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

This position is located at NAS North Island, CA.

1st shift position; Monday - Friday from 6am - 2:30pm.

Perform full range of duties in the receipt, stow and issue of material. Ensure items being stowed meet requirements of MIL-STD 129N. Must be proficient in use of anti-static devices. Provide COSIS/Shelf-Life inspection as required in depot contract agreement. Perform kitting functions and provide cost estimates for preparation of kits. Provide daily work assignment to other storage personnel assigned to work center.

  • Assist the Supervisor in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees.

  • Perform evaluations and assist the supervisor in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintain records.

  • May be temporarily called upon to act on behalf of a supervisor in cases of emergency or absence.

  • Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material per DLA regulations. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques.

  • Must be able to conduct inventory/causative research, read supply manuals, specifications, drawings, and prints.

  • Load material on and off skids, pallets, and stands.

  • Conduct Shelf-Life and COSIS actions as necessary and conduct material coordination duties for special programs as required.

  • Prepare labels as required.

  • Prepare reports as required.

  • Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties.

  • Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated supply systems in performance of duties.

  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and hold appropriate license.

  • Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels.

  • Make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED. Two years of college or technical school is highly desired. (May substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).

  • Minimum five years’ general experience

  • Minimum three years’ specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, Quality Assurance (QA), or related areas.

  • Must possess knowledge of supply inspection/examination procedures for material. Must possess knowledge of inventory research techniques for unmarked/defective material requiring identification.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to obtain certification in Hazardous Material (HAZMAT)/radioactive material handling, license to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Must be proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site. Must be familiar with MIL-STD 129.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

  • Secret Level May Be Required

  • Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
