Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Director of Business Development for Emerging Contaminants. This technical sales position primarily involves developing and executing a sales strategy for capturing emerging contaminant opportunities. In addition to these duties, this person will work with AECOM’s technical and business development teams to better understand the market, develop priority clients, and participate in sales calls to better position AECOM for upcoming opportunities. This person will also support technical delivery of projects and will eventually engage in project and program management. This person will also engage with clients across AECOM’s Federal portfolio to best position AECOM for other services to include NEPA, compliance, and facility support. This person will always provide safety leadership in all activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a sales strategy that supports sustainable growth in the emerging contaminants market sector

  • Work with Federal team to draft sales strategy that provides definable actions with respect to client development

  • Work with technical team to help them understand market trends and requirements in order to better develop our technical strategy with respect to investigation and remedial options

  • Lead overarching BD team to include personnel from the Environment Business Line as well as National Governments to create actionable strategies to put AECOM in the best position possible to garner the greatest emerging contaminant market share

  • Provide strategic input and support to the Site Investigation Practice

  • Support our Site PFAS Practice in developing a competitive advantages to meet evolving opportunities, considering staff, tools, partnerships and budgets

  • Identify the best teaming partners to support small business utilization

  • Support project and program needs as a senior consultant on major programs and/or projects, as appropriate

  • Establish and maintains effective communications protocol in the company by supporting Operations, End Markets, Key Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers and Global Practice Directors

  • Domestic and international travel as needed to guide, develop, and direct emerging contaminant program

  • Support participation in research and development (R&D) opportunities and projects (e.g. SERDP/ESTCP, PERF, etc.)

  • Participate in external affairs such as SAME, Battelle, and other applicable conferences.

  • Actively communicates safety performance and promotes safety improvements and behavior in all aspects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • Recognized leader in the emerging contaminant field across the Department of Defense

  • Valid driver's license is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • 15+ years' experience preferred

  • Professional Registration or Certification within area of expertise desired
