Job Summary

The Aviation Planning division of AECOM’s Transportation Department is actively seeking a self-motivated Aviation Planning Intern to assist the planning staff in our Salt Lake City, UT office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have a positive and inquisitive attitude, commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast pace, team centered and collaborative environment. The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps, and data presentation

  • Assist in report editing and production

  • Assist in the development of airport facility layouts

  • Become familiar with a consulting office and understand the business activities of an airport planning consultant

  • Work under supervision of a project manager and/or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently in pursuit of Associate's degree with an emphasis on Aviation management / Planning / Landscaping Architecture or other related field required

  • AutoCAD experience

  • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Good written and communication skills

  • Interest in Aviation Planning

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaborative in a fast paced team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree inAviation management / Planning / Landscaping Architecture or other related field

  • GIS Software Experience

  • Aviation management degree/experience preferred

  • USDOT pilot certificate or flight experience

  • A university student with no more than one academic year remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students are typically seniors in university. Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern may receive an offer of full-time employment.
