Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Field Inspector to work as part of an established engineering and construction team for various projects within the Northern California region. These projects consist of design, construction, rehabilitation, repair, and inspection of various dams, levees, spillways, pump stations, etc. throughout Northern California.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records

  • Monitors conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties and accurately reports non-conforming work to the Project Manager (or others, as assigned)

  • Tracks quality assurance progress and resolves any quality assurance / quality control issues that might arise

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years' experience

  • Ability to adjust to changing job environments and desire to work in the field

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong desire to continuously improve technical skills and quality

  • Available for work/travel outside normal office hours & inter-departments, as required

  • Thorough knowledge of inspection principles, practices, and procedures, applicable laws, and relevant government regulations

  • Work well under pressure with an organized approach to managing tasks, time and workload

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness and ability to relocate to project sites

  • U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field

  • 10+ years of related inspection experience
