About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented CAD Operator for immediate employment for the Sacramento, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Produce clear and attractive project drawings with project engineers, CAD staff and others

  • Coordinate design and model changes with other disciplines

  • Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of basic to moderate complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution

  • Develop graphics for proposals to support the engineering team communication with clients

  • Performs standardized or prescribed CADD assignments, involving a sequence of related operations.

  • Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 3+ years' related experience

  • Demonstrated skills with knowledge and understanding of Civil 3D Design and AutoCAD 2014

  • Ability and interest in learning Revit 2015

  • Proficient in and able to create documents utilizing Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to export to various formats for collaboration internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

  • MEP REVIT experience preferred

  • Progressive experience in the design of public works infrastructure improvements including the development of plans, exhibits, figures, sections, details, and cost estimates for water/waste-water and civil site projects is helpful

  • Experience using or ability to learn Revit on process mechanical design projects

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments

  • Ability to effectively communicate questions, issues, and solutions to project staff to ensure the best possible design execution

  • Associate’s Degree
