About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
The Water Business Unit of AECOM is seeking a motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Roanoke. The successful candidate will lead variety of tasks on site development projects for public and private sector clients. Work may include client/team
meetings, field investigation and preparation of site design deliverables (i.e., technical reports and construction documents) including calculations, drawings, specifications and estimates of construction costs, grading, drainage, dimensional layout, erosion and sediment control, site utilities. This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading a team of design technicians and less experienced engineers on large complex projects
Mentoring less experienced engineers
Assisting project managers with developing scope, schedule and budget on site development projects
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equal from an accredited university or college
Course work and experience with focus on site development
15+ years of experience performing site development design
Professional Civil Engineer licensure required
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety
Efficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D design software is a plus
LEED AP BD+C a plus
