About the Business Line

Water

We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineering Team Leader to provide technical and management guidance for a group of design professionals in a team setting; the technical emphasis of the group is civil design projects including site development, water resource, water and wastewater. This position is located in our Roanoke, Virginia office.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established design oriented career in a variety of civil works projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of technical execution and quality control

  • Establishing and meeting team goals

  • Professional development of team personnel

  • Monitoring of the team's fiscal performance

  • Participation in business development activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience performing civil engineering design of various civil works projects

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/external networking skills

  • Experience in direct supervision and leadership of administrative and junior level staff

  • Ability to interact regularly and professionally with senior management and technical staff in other offices on business development and project execution issues

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proven organization skills with a proven track record in client satisfaction while meeting deliverable and deadline requirements

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in proposal preparation and business development is desirable
