Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Specialist - HSE to be based out in Riyadh.Will act as the management focus in co-ordinating Safety, Health and Environmental matters, supporting all offices and projects in unifying SH&E activity. Responsible for establishing, managing and monitoring compliance with company and local safety regulations for construction phases of projects, including the safety of AECOM project staff. Responsible for the implementation of SH&E policy, procedures and processes and the subsequent monitoring and maintaining compliance with these procedures. Will develop and deliver training modules to all staff within region.

Roles & Responsibility:

  • To provide advice, guidance, and support to all personnel on all matters relating to Safety, Health and Environment in the workplace. To take initiative in implementing the strategy for Safety, Health and Environmental compliance in the project. Maintain a culture that allows all individuals and teams to provide positive input into Safety, Health and Environment in their workplace.

  • To develop and maintain excellent communications with all levels of staff providing advice, guidance, support and assistance in a timely manner.

  • Communicating effectively with external colleagues (Clients representatives, Contractors etc ensuring a coordinated and compliant approach to Safety, Health and Environmental management.

  • Monitors policies, procedures, programs, standards affecting construction safety on multiple projects.

  • Determines cause of unsafe acts and conditions through procedure review, equipment and facilities inspection, and worker observation with corrective action recommendations provided.

  • Participates in the investigation of site accidents and incidents and maintain the records.

  • Hands-on SH&E inspecting experience of building projects.

  • Have positive attitude and self-motivated.

  • Very good communication skill.

  • Manage develop and deliver SH&E Training for site Staff.

  • Maintains compliance with Client’s requirements. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate or delegated by the Resident Engineer.

  • Establish a comprehensive programme for SH&E inspections, audits and checks.

  • Ensure site SH&E records are maintained (including fire prevention, chemicals usage and storage, and other general aspects) and compile monthly statistics on SH&E.

  • Participate in meetings, when required, to report on SH&E matters.

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Resident Engineer from time to time.

Specific Skills Required

  • Up to date knowledge of all issues relating to Safety, Health and Environment in KSA.

  • Ability to communicate in a practical manner at all levels of the organisation.

  • Ability to innovatively plan ahead for future development of Safety, Health and Environment within the Business.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of related professional work experience in Safety. Middle East experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Safety or in a related field. IOSH/NEBOSH holders are preferred
