Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to be based out in Riyadh. Responsible for the approvals of all Mechanical/site drawings, supporting calculations and specifications from Contractors. Coordinates the flow of technical documents (requisitions, drawings, specifications, calculations) between interfacing engineering disciplines and contractors.

Provides alternate options and details to ensure that all mechanical issues are resolved on site.

Roles & Responsibility:

  • Must have Design review and supervision experience of all types of Mechanical Works.

  • Monitors the mechanical works for conformance with the provisions of the Contract Documents and the Procedures manual.

  • Reviews, approves and processes all mechanical technical submittals.

  • Coordinating and supervising the work of all mechanical activities and operations.

  • Receive/action Request for Information (RFI) that applies to Mechanical works.

  • Review contractors' claims related to mechanical works. Prepare recommendations for claims approval or rejection. Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.

  • Witness testing and commissioning of the works.

  • Approve the contractors' shop drawings, as-built drawings and other submittals.

  • Assist with the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of punch lists. Monitor final completion of the work.

  • Ensure coordination between all discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and Architecture).

  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with project teams in identifying and flagging technical issues, solving technical issues.

  • Identify and propose possible value engineering ideas to cut costs/time, in accordance with project teams

  • Monitoring the day to day activities of the mechanical inspectors i.e. site work inspection as well as inspection of the materials delivered in Contractors store.

  • Monitor contractor progress against schedule/plan and provide regular reporting to the Resident Engineer.

  • Conduct reviews of engineering options and evaluations to validate the new design solutions.

  • Consistently encourage the team for compliance of AECOM’s and Client’s SH&E procedures.

  • Perform any other duties as required in the project.

Specific skills required:

  • Arabic language a plus.

  • Must have knowledge of ASHRAE,SMACNA,UL,NFPA,DW144,ANSI,ASME,ASTM,UPC,UMC&AWS codes

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in his field.
