Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Architect (Site Supervision Technical) to be based out in Riyadh. Responsible for reviewing and approving all contractor shop drawings, materials and other technical submittals, to ensure that the works are executed as per the client’s minimum architectural requirements and standards as defined in construction drawings and specs. Coordinates the flow of technical documents (requisitions, drawings, specifications, calculations) between interfacing engineering disciplines and contractors. Provides alternate options and details to ensure that all architectural issues are resolved on site.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as lead architect to multi-discipline supervision design teams on varying projects.

  • Responsible to lead the design team to complete construction project.

  • Approves drawing packages for submission.

  • Manage to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme.

  • Provide technological input and supervise technical input by others within the Architectural discipline.

  • Manage project support teams including input from other disciplines and cost and scheduling experts

  • Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.

  • Inspects and supervises the inspection of construction projects while in progress and upon completion for adherence to plans and specifications; advises contractors on the interpretation of plans and specifications; approves minor design changes in the course of construction; reviews contractors' requests for payment.

  • Carry assignments to completion with considerable independence in accordance with project objectives, professional standards, and policies and procedures.

  • Supervise subordinate personnel in preparing plans, specifications and preliminary construction layouts and cost estimates.

Minimum Requirements


  • Min 8 years of post qualification experience within the Middle East in the consulting industry desirable.

Specific skills required

  • Considerable project architect knowledge including design, project management and some site supervision.

  • Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment employed in building and facilities construction and maintenance in the field of structural architecture as related to public buildings and facilities.

  • Expert in leading large scale projects.

  • Familiar with researching, preparing and presenting technical presentations and reports.

  • Outstanding leadership skills.

  • Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Excellent computer/software skills.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor degree with major course work in architecture required.
