Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Project Manager for immediate employment in the Richmond Hill, Ontario office. This is a contingent position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Project Management Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct project supervision/management

  2. Completes pre-construction activities

  3. Coordinates the services of AECOM’s field staff on assigned projects

  4. Manages AECOM’s relationship with the client

  5. Works with field staff to resolve technical / administrative issues within the context of client-specific requirements and protocols

  6. Contributes to / supervises project budgets

  7. Promotes safety in the workplace and the analysis of contractor claims, including leading negotiations

  8. Maintains responsibility for safety on AECOM project sites

  9. Takes ownership of project safety, including meeting appropriate metrics

  10. Provides project close-out including preparation of final reporting deliverables

  11. Project Managers are ultimately responsible for client satisfaction on assigned projects

Non-project responsibilities:

  1. Contributes to client proposals

  2. Liaises with other Departments / Business Units at AECOM in an advisory/consultative role

  3. Participates in formal / informal constructability reviews of planning and design deliverables

  4. Works with Project Managers to identify high-potential staff

  5. Works with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, and client staff as necessary to maximize experiential opportunities for high-potential staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, including previous experience as a senior manager or within technical role within an P3/AFP advisory team or P3/AFP bid side team

  • Experience as the Engineering Manager and/or Project Manager on a large (>$100-million) projects

  • Multi-disciplinary engineering and construction experience, focused on highway and transit projects

  • P. Eng. in Ontario

  • A good understanding of the P3/AFP models and experience in delivery of schemes in this market

  • Familiar and generally proficient with project management process

  • Experience with business and contractual agreements

  • Ability to work independently, strong negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Skilled in technical writing and delivering presentations to clients, operators, and regulators

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a major contractor i

  • Existing client/working relationships with MTO or Infrastructure Ontario

  • P3/AFP owner’s side or private sector delivery side experience
