Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking several creative, highly talented Archaeology Field Supervisors. The positions can be based in London, Richmond Hill or Barrie. These are part-time variable positions, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis. Duration of the contracts are mid March till December 15th; overtime will be required at times.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise field crews conducting Stage 2-4 archaeological assessments

  • Perform strenuous physical labour outside in all weather conditions

  • Maximize the efficiency of field crews

  • Provide accurate and clear communication between the field and office teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • ​Professional or Research class license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Experience operating high precision GPS or total station equipment

  • Firm understanding of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists

  • Valid Ontario drivers license

  • Artifact identification skills for both First Nation and Euro-Canadian material

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • ​Experience writing archaeological assessment reports

  • Artifact cataloguing experience
