Job Summary

The Training Coordinator is accountable for supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for WTCC Plant Management to qualify personnel to support safe and compliant performance of assigned tasks throughout the project.

The Training Coordinator reports to the Training Administration Manager and is responsible for coordinating training schedules and resources with project needs and requirements, assisting responsible managers in the creation and assignment of qualifications and training for the respective organization, maintaining qualification content and qualification owners current, and monitoring and maintaining consistent training and qualification profiles across the organization.

The Training Coordinator is also responsible for providing technical expertise and assistance to management personnel to establish overall development, implementation and improvement of training procedures and programs. Assisting with training logistics planning and execution for instructor-led classes, including but not limited to finalizing dates, location, scope, presenter availability, training material readiness, and roster management. Ensuring that a comprehensive training records system is established and maintained. Performing work in accordance with Plant Operations and other applicable project procedures in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, Contract, Authorization Basis, and technical requirements.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of WTCC.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Primary responsibilities include;

  • Administers and maintains a Learning Management System

  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records

  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment

  • Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs

  • Track and report on training outcomes

  • Provide feedback on the training program to program participants and management

  • Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology

  • Maintain employee training records

  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers

  • Coordinate off-site training activities for employees

  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment

  • Keep current on training design and methodology

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects—equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor degree from an accredited university and 1 year of implementation and maintenance of training programs

OR

Associate degree with 3 years of implementation and maintenance of DOE Order 426.2 compliant training program

OR

5 years of progressively responsible training related experience with an emphasis in the implementation and maintenance of a DOE Order 426.2 compliant training program

Experience:

Experience with DOE Order 426.2 or working in a regulatory environment which includes but is not

limited to maintaining processes and systems to support formal qualification. Working knowledge of a learning management system. Demonstrated experience in the identification of training needs and coordination of training delivery. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to foster positive relations and

influence outcomes. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Highly motivated, resourceful and able to work autonomously. As a minimum a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
