Job Responsibilities/Duties

Performs duties of a Mechanical Engineer and provide technical support to the Base Operations Engineering Organization (drawing reviews, supporting routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting, Engineering Change Notices, Unreviewed Safety Questions, Bill of Materials, procedure reviews, etc.) as assigned by manager. Provide technical and programmatic leadership in support or Base Operations Engineering, which includes coordination of activities with multiple internal and external entities, performing technical and cost/benefits evaluations, and developing task plans and schedules. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. May function as a group leader on project or departmental task assignments. Shall obtain and maintain at a minimum an Engineering Technical Qualification Card.Provides engineering guidance, calculations, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of engineering within schedule and budget of an assigned project. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.Comply with WRPS policies and proceduresEnsure Integrated Safety Management System Principles are incorporated into organization's activitiesIn addition to job expectations for Engineer Associate II, ensure accountable for safety based on the principles of no injuries to anyoneSet challenging goals for personal and group accomplishmentsSet high standards of performance for self and othersDevelop and sustain productive customer relationshipsSupport preparation of Statements of Work, design products, procurements, specifications, etc.Provide oversight of and technical direction to design, fabrication, and construction subcontractorsPrepare and approve design mediaPrepare and approve Engineering documents, evaluations, and calculationsPerform routine administrative activities/duties on time (routine training, safety meetings, TIS, continuing training, staff meetings)

Required Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering or Science with 0-2 year experience in Mechanical Engineering.

Desired Qualifications

Desirable to have experience with the nuclear application of Mechanical systems.
