Job Responsibilities/Duties

This position is responsible for assisting in the development and refinement of computer-based models that will be used to support the River Protection Project System Plan, the Multi-year Operating Plan and the Integrated Waste Feed Delivery Plan. Duties will be focused on model requirements development, model requirements testing, performing and documenting calculations that support model development. This position will also provide systems analysis for evaluating alternatives of tank waste retrieval, treatment and disposition for the River Protection Project Mission. Model requirements development and documentationSoftware testingVerify and validate dynamic process modelsSystems analysisComplete engineering studiesWrite and issue reports Prepare and issue spreadsheet calculations; verify spreadsheets prepared by othersDevelop and analyze flowsheetsPerform process modeling to support flowsheet developmentUnder general supervision, acts as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignmentsPlan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteriaOversee contractors on studies and evaluations including procuring subcontract servicesMay function as lead specialist engineer on a task force or special assignment

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering with 0-7 years of experience.

Desired Qualifications

MS a plus but not required. Professional society membership desirable. Published in a professional journal a plus. The ability to perform technical calculations using Excel, Tableau and other modeling platforms in highly desired.
