Job Responsibilities/Duties

Comply with WRPS policies and proceduresEnsure ISMS Principles are incorporated into organization's activitiesDevelop chemical inventories of waste tanks (Best-Basis Inventory) using sample data, process knowledge, and model data. Create spreadsheets and supporting documents for process knowledge information or other applications as requested.Write sample and analysis plans for tank waste, environmental, and multi-media samples.Write data quality objectives as described in EPA QA/G-4.Review and reconcile characterization data (analytical, radiochemical, and mineralogical).Prepare tank characterization reports.Prepare the monthly Tank Waste Summary Report.Develop clear, concise, and error-free engineering documents.Review and complete Problem Evaluation Requests.Prepare updates to spreadsheets for Protective Action Criteria, Unit Liter Dose, and Sum of Fractions.Extensive knowledge of spreadsheets, solvers, and data comparison.Provide support for data uploads, review and comparison of analytical data, and addition of new/revised data. *Obtain and maintain Engineering Technical Staff and Process Engineering Qualification cards.Preparation of reports, spreadsheets, or other work products includes satisfactory disposition and resolution of comments submitted by others.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Chemical engineering, or closely related degree and 7-15 years of experience is required.

Desired Qualifications

A strong background in chemistry or demonstrated chemistry course work is required. Candidate must have experience in preparation and facilitation of Data Quality Objectives which establish performance and/or acceptance criteria and serve as the basis for designing a plan for collecting data of appropriate type and sufficient quality to achieve goals of the study. Use of the DQO process leads to efficient and effective expenditures of resources; consensus on the type, quality and quantity of data needed to meet the project goal; and the full documentation of actions taken during development of the project. Position requires experience in preparation of Sampling and Analysis plans including Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans. Identification of appropriate Data Quality Objectives or project/program specific guidance documents to determine sample type, number of samples, sample locations and analysis required. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to programmatic and regulatory personnel. Requires the ability to effectively perform in multi-discipline cross-functional teams that define RPP mission objectives, including occasional assignment as a team leader.
