Job Responsibilities/Duties

Performs duties of a Instrument Control/Electrical engineer and system engineer (supporting testing, routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting, system design improvements, Engineering Change Notices, material procurement, procedure reviews, etc.) as assigned by manager. Provide technical and programmatic leadership in support of Process & Control System (P&CS) Engineering, which includes coordination of activities with multiple internal and external entities, performing technical and cost/benefits evaluations, and developing task plans and schedules. Provide oversight of and technical direction to subcontractors. Prepare and present technical information related to assigned system as needed.* Comply with WRPS polices and procedures* Ensure ISMS Principles are incorporated into organization's activities* Accountable for safety based on the principals of no injuries to anyone* Set challenging goals for personal and group accomplishments* Set high standards of performance for self and others* Develop and sustain productive customer relationships* Maintain cognizance of any changes to assigned instrumentation systems and components* Input to/develop and approve work packages, Engineering Change Notices and Software Change Requests* Perform software modifications on ABB and Allen-Bradley control systems* Review and approve new or changes to operating or maintenance procedures* Review preventive maintenance, surveillances, and establish post maintenance testing requirements* Perform operability evaluations, USQs, etc. in support of daily activities* Maintain knowledge of system design descriptions, baseline technical documentation, software quality assurance records* Prepare Bills of Material and Material Requests* Perform Lock and Tag Reviews* Perform routine administrative activities/duties on time (routine training, safety meetings, time keeping, continuing training, staff meetings)Daily interface with all maintenance/system/project team members, including vendors, etc. regarding assigned work scope and milestone commitments. Daily interface with management & appropriate personnel regarding engineering issues and schedule commitments. Some interface with external regulatory oversight.Provide verbal & written reports & formal presentations to immediate management and/or DOE ORP.Attend and participate in project or departmental meetings as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree; plus minimum of 7 years experience in nuclear application with emphasis on Instrument and Process Control/Automation.

Desired Qualifications

Must be familiar with nuclear application with emphasis on instruments and controls, and a knowledge of current development and trends and be able to interpret IEEE Standards, NFPA Requirements. Must be familiar with process and control system platforms including modification to the control system hardware and software, communications systems (including wireless), and development and testing systems. Required significant control systems testing experience, including preparation of test procedures and completion of test reports.Working knowledge of developing safety instrumented systems and application of ANSI/ISA-84 desirable.Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and/or ABB 800xA control system platform desirable. Working knowledge of software development in any of these: C#, .NET, C++, JavaScript, Microsoft MVC, SQL, etc. is desirableExcellent interpersonal skills & communication needed to facilitate project and operation milestones. Must be able to clearly & concisely communicate to both peers and management. Take prompt action to accomplish assigned objectives and understand/identify issues and opportunities.Must be skilled at resolving technical & interpersonal issues without undue conflict or involving management unnecessarily. Provide direct, complete, concise feedback and support to others to prevent misunderstandings or negative consequences, especially with equipment or craft interface. Influence & facilitate effective problem solving and resolution for all Operations maintenance and system issues/concerns.
