We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment in our project office in Ramallah, West Bank. The person in this position will support the in-country Design Manager in the development of planning, feasibility analysis, and design of water/wastewater projects in the West Bank. In this position s/he will independently manage task budgets, schedule, and product quality, and support the in-country management team with client liaison duties. The Project Manager will oversee assigned project staff on a variety of projects related to wastewater conveyance, treatment, and effluent reuse; and water supply and transmission.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as primary point of contact for the project execution team consisting of US-based home office staff, in-country AECOM staff, and local subcontractor staff

  • Identifies and commits appropriate company resources to accomplish project goals

  • Controls overall project cost and scope, schedule, quality of work, and project controls

  • Makes decisions concerning approved expenditures to meet project budget

  • Ensures all standards and requirements are met in the area of health and safety by reviewing, communicating and managing project health and safety plans so that project personnel, client, and subcontractors are aware of risks; and hazards and accidents are prevented

  • Mentors and develops local subcontractor staff, providing leadership and an environment which encourages teamwork, initiative and growth

  • Participates in building and maintaining a positive client relationship

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering field

  • Previous experience working in international development (infrastructure)

  • Previous experience with USAID, USACE, or related US Federal Agencies

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a project scope within an assigned budget

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Planner scheduling software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in related field

  • 15+ years of experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure

  • US PE Licensure/Registration

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Familiarity with energy efficiency/sustainability
