Position Title Mid-Level Traffic Engineer

AECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Mid-Level Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in the Raleigh office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to supporting major projects such as transportation environmental impacts statements, corridor studies and feasibility studies. Incumbent will work as part of a creative team to perform analyses and other technical input into a variety of areas.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Track and manage task budgets and schedules
Work with various multi-disciplined teams
Perform traffic capacity analysis, feasibility studies, signal design, signal timing, ITS, tolling, system integration, traffic operations, safety analysis, traffic impact analyses, traffic calming, and other related traffic engineering work in NC
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in traffic engineering, including North Carolina NCDOT experience
Experience with local municipalities, DOT's and approving agencies
NC PE or ability to obtain through reciprocity in 3 months required
Thorough understanding of micro simulation guidelines / procedures / plan preparation
Ability to scope / estimate complex projects
Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role
Familiar with MicroStation/AutoCAD and software like Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, CORSIM and VISSIM
Must possess a valid driver's license
Demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in traffic engineering focusing on micro simulation
Innovative traffic engineering experience in the areas of adaptive signal timing, autonomous vehicles and others
