Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to be based in our Princeton, New Jersey location with a start date in June 2017

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and foundation recommendations.

  • Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications and construction documents.

  • Manage subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs.

  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.

  • Prepare project estimates, schedules, and specifications.

  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables.

  • Travel to project sites as required.

Minimum Requirements


  • Must have obtained or will obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a 4 year accredited college or university prior to the start of the position.


  • Less than 12 months of relevant post graduate professional experience in engineering

Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Geotechnical or Engineering internship

  • Perform engineering calculations related to settlement, pile capacity, slope stability and support of excavation

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others

  • Familiarity with geotechnical software applications, such as LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, and Geo-Slope.

  • Experience performing geotechnical field investigations and calculations

  • Experience with GIS Software

  • FE (EIT) certificate preferred
