Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Network Engineer to provide technical service to a government customer onsite at St. Juliens Creek, Portsmouth, VA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune, set standards and maintain a range of computer network components and systems.

  2. Provide server and operating system administration, including log and alert monitoring and troubleshooting.

  3. Manage network performance to maintain high quality transmission service on the network.

  4. Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance and trace data and protocol activity,

  5. Server deployment (physical and virtual), system and security update management, and configuration management via SCCM.

  6. Provide server and workstation hardware troubleshooting, repair, and evaluation.

  7. Provide SCCM/SCOM administration, to include vulnerability remediation, software deployment, and system monitoring.

  8. Directs customer interface for program guidance, testing, systems analysis, and other system related tasks as needed.

  9. Prepares detailed documented requirements for selected activities (i.e., data management, configuration management, program management, etc.)

  10. Complies with hardware and software systems STIGS, standards and procedures.

  11. Additional responsibilities may include providing Acronis Backup Advanced administration and providing end user and developer support and troubleshooting.

  12. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, math, engineering or equivalent.

  • Five years’ experience Windows Server, Networking Computerized System experience, to include: Design, Development, Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, UNIX and Windows based operating Systems.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft SCCM, processes, and implementation.

  • Position requires a Security+ and Microsoft Windows certifications. Other certifications may satisfy CSWF requirements.

  • Will be required to complete the following certification or other designated approved certification within one and a half years after assuming duties:

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires an Active Secret DoD Security Clearance, which requires USA citizenship.
