Position Title Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Civil or Structural Engineer for immediate employment in the Portland, OR office. The successful candidate will support the Water/Wastewater Treatment, Planning, and Design teams on projects that involve water/wastewater-related infrastructure projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working with senior management team to develop business development and growth strategies
Acting as primary point of contact with assigned clients and has full responsibility for project delivery
Managing large, complex projects or several moderately sized projects – take full ownership of all aspects of management including scope, schedule and budget
May be responsible for Project teams that include 10 or more members often representing multiple business lines, working in remote locations and including subcontractor(s)
Utilizing AECOM resources to resolve complex technical issues
Proactively identify need for additional resources and staffing needs
Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering required
Professional Engineering License required (Oregon preferred)
10+ years of project engineering and project management experience. Qualified applicants will have experience managing projects with $1M contract value
Must have strong technical progression within an organization showing ability to take on challenges and broaden responsibilities
Appropriately experienced candidates will have acted as a technical leader within the areas of consulting on major infrastructure projects from civil and/or structural design through to construction oversight
Must have experience in client service and business development
Masters Degree preferred
Experience in working with water/wastewater utility clients
Proven track record of quickly resolving technical and managerial issues
Technical expertise in design and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure
Ability to mentor and guide younger staff
Experience with preparing plans, specifications and cost estimates
