Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a 2 nd shift Industrial Electrician IV in Pomona, MO. Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm ; hours may vary based on business demand.

This position is responsible forproviding an advanced level of expertise inresponding to work orders, troubleshooting,servicing,and providing preventive maintenance and reactive repairon the facility electrical equipment and systems.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control circuits, PLCs ( Allen Bradley and Siemens), VFDs, facility lighting, and single and 3 phase circuits. This position will also support of maintenance and repair of production related machines as necessary.

The Industrial Electrician IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.


  • Troubleshoots, repairs and rebuilds electrical distribution systems, including transformers, circuit interrupters, recloses, capacitors, voltage regulators, medium voltage switches, breakers and supporting hardware.

  • Operates various components on the medium and 480 3-phase voltage distribution electrical system including isolation switches, interrupters, capacitor banks, transformers, and voltage regulators. Isolates and clears sections of the system for maintenance and installation.

  • Inspects electrical distribution systems, tests, and documents findings.

  • Responds to emergency calls and takes necessary actions.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs PLCs.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs VFDs.

  • Directs the work of unskilled and semi-skilled helpers assisting in projects, assuring that proper safety practices are followed. Coordinates work with outside contractors.

  • Assures code and building standards are met.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and utilizes PPE as required.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

  • Other duties may be assigned.



Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  2. Five years of experience performing electrical maintenance and repair of industrial facility and/or production systems and equipment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  3. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe electrical safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hatsand other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Electrical, or related program.

  • NFPA-70E Training.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing components up to 480v 3 phase.

  • Experience in troubleshooting 4-20mA and 0-10v circuits.

  • Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and altering PLCs, such as Allen Bradley.

  • Experience using RS Logix, MicroLogix, ControlLogix and PLC-5 Software, Siemens.

  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing VFDs.

  • Experience calibrating testing equipment.

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical components on large industrial autoclaves.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
