Job Summary

This position is contingent upon award of the Naval Test Wing Pacific Aircraft Maintenance contract and will be based in Point Mugu, CA

Site manager reassigns contractors between work centers as needed to best meet the daily flight schedule requirements, ensures adequate number of qualified personnel are cross-trained to launch and recover all T/M/S/ aircraft across all hours of operation as defined within the PWS, and ensures contractor personnel support good order, productivity, and cohesiveness within the squadron.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work is performed in an office, flight line and shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-50 pounds and occasionally in excess of 75 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

Minimum Requirements

MUST BE A US CITIZEN

  1. 10 years extensive experience within the last 15 years in a managerial position related to aircraft maintenance and material support.

  2. Manager or director of a field site, secondary location, or primary site for 5 years of the 10 years referenced in 1 above.

  3. Experience in inventory control, industrial and personnel relations, including the assignment/reassignment of personnel in conjunction with fluctuating workloads.

  4. Experience in establishing policy and procedures, training, and safety programs.

  5. Experience in logistics support, maintenance supply, and production procurement activities.

  6. Experience managing operating budgets and fund expenditures for supplies and/or equipment; in flight operation plans, programs, and evaluation of maintenance and supply capability to support such programs.

  7. Experience in aircraft maintenance plans, procedures, and policies with collective experience in monitoring and directing maintenance and supply activities.

Capabilities/Skills:

  1. Capability of establishing liaison and coordinating with associated Navy activities.

  2. Knowledge of high performance aircraft maintenance and supply, including jet engines, airframes, installed systems, production control, maintenance data collection and Navy Technical Directive Compliance (TDC).

  3. Familiarity with Navy procedures and directives.

  4. Comprehensive knowledge of high performance aircraft maintenance and supply, including jet engines, airframes, installed systems, production control, maintenance data collection, and Navy technical directive compliance.

  5. Familiarity with Navy procedures and directives.

  6. The site manager shall be capable of establishing liaison and coordinating with associated Navy and other activities.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred
