About the Business Line
We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.
The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, highly talented Senior Planner for immediate employment in the Piscataway, NJ office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Transportation Planning/Permitting for New Jersey and its environs. Success with the regional transportation agencies must be documented.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Interacting with clients and project teams
Providing support on current projects
Reviewing environmental documents and technical reports
Conducting extensive research in specific or general project areas
Writing and presenting technical reports, working papers and correspondence
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
8+ years of experience in the planning and environmental permitting field
Proven project management and client management skills
Ability to coordinate and manage large-scale environmental projects and effectively apply environmental regulations
Technical expertise in NEPA, EO215, and Federal and State regulations
Strong writing and analytical skills and experience preparing scopes of work, budgets, proposals, and schedules
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak effectively in public
Must possess a valid driver's license
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or related field
15+ years of experience in the planning and environmental permitting field
Proficiency in NEPA and Executive Order No. 215 regulatory frameworks and their application to projects
Proficient writer and analyst
Experience in marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects
Project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage schedule, staff, budget and finances
Experience with projects in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania
Experience with utility and/or transportation projects
