About the Business Line


Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a well-rounded, self-motivated, mid-level Geologist to support our staff of experienced Project Managers. This position will be based out of our Phoenix, Arizona office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with task management for a broad range of environmental assessment and remediation projects

  • Conduct field investigations

  • Assist in remediation projects

  • Perform analytical data analysis

  • Prepare work plans and reports

  • Manage subcontractors in the field

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology / Hydrology

  • 4+ years of experience in environmental field investigations

  • 40-HAZWOPER training certificate

  • Thorough knowledge of soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling

  • Fully competent in a variety of field investigation drilling methods

  • Ability to supervise field staff

  • Ability to read, write, and understand technical documents including investigation work plans and remedial action plans

  • Ability to design, install, and abandon groundwater monitoring wells

  • Behavior-based safety conscious

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

  • Due to the nature of this work, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must be willing to travel to various job sites; approximately 15-25% travel

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Geologist - Arizona

  • Drilling in complex geologic environments

  • Project management experience

  • Experience drilling and installing wells in a fractured bedrock
