Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Urban Designer/Planner n for employment in the Philadelphia, PA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the modeling and visualization practice using a variety of software packages, including InDesign, 3-D modeling software, such as Sketch Up and Rhino, AutoCAD, ArcGIS

  • Coordinate extensively with planning staff in four offices in Pennsylvania and Delaware

  • Make professional presentations to client or community groups

  • Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM

  • Work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists

  • Serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM

Candidate will perform streetscape and community design plans as well as general land-use, transportation and master planning at the municipal and county level. Tasks include:

  • Impact analyses

  • Public involvement

  • Data collection and evaluation

  • Preparation of graphic illustrations

  • Preparation of reports and report materials

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, transportation, or related area of study.

  • 2+ years of relevant planning experience, a Master's or PhD degree can substitute for experience

  • Experience in Photoshop, InDesign, 3-D modeling software, including Sketch Up, Rhino, AutoCAD, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office

  • Strong writing, urban design and rendering skills

  • Knowledge of planning principles and practices and the ability to work as a productive team member

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
