Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in our eastern Pennsylvania offices (Philadelphia or Conshohocken), or our Newark Delaware office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of a team and also independently in evaluating and applying Traffic Engineering principles, standards, and criteria

  • Utilize various design software/tools (Synchro, HCS, and/or VISSIM) for traffic analysis for a variety of conditions

  • Lead the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency standards and specifications

  • Interact directly with clients at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet engineering standards

  • Adhere to project schedules and budgets and keep project PM aware of any issues

  • Prepare technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distribution

  • Represent AECOM at conferences and professional societies

  • Mentor junior engineers

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of related experience with a strong background in traffic signal design

  • Traffic Engineering studies/analysis experience, as well as experience with state DOT (preferably PennDOT)

  • P.E. License (preferably from PA) or able to obtain within 12 months

  • Traffic Signal Design experience

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • P.T.O.E. Certification

  • Traffic Modeling experience (VISSIM preferred)

  • Project experience with the City of Philadelphia and/or the PA Turnpike
