Position Title Estimator I

Job Summary

Provide accurate quantity surveys of materials and labor, from conceptual through working drawings, during pre-construction and construction phases of the project.

  1. Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for various project types from the concept design stage to the working document stage.

  2. Obtain all necessary information form the consultants to complete the estimate.

  3. Verify unit cost pricing for each trade through historical data or vendor contract.

  4. Check local markets for man-power and material availabilities

  5. Review, quantify and price cost savings/value engineering opportunities.

  6. Analyze and compare bids with projected budget costs.

  7. Continually checking the work product for accuracy and completeness.

  8. Must be able to present and describe the to supervisors, A/E teams, clients and other personnel from within and company

  9. Must have experience estimating a wide variety of projects, including base building, interiors, health sciences, industrial, commercial, retail and residential.

Location: Philadelphia

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years prior take-off experience to provide proficiency in take-off and familiarization with standard construction details and drawings.

  • Engineering or construction technology course work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience.

  • Conceptual estimating experience also desirable

  • 4 year degree.
