Job Summary

AECOM PPP Advisory provides technical advisory services for sponsors, lenders and secondary market buyers of infrastructure assets developed under public-private partnerships and other project finance mechanisms (DBFM and DBFMO projects). Sectors covered by PPP Advisory include transport (roads, rail, airports etc.), social infrastructure (universities, hospitals, sports facilities etc.), water and energy. The latter is an area of development for the Team.

We are a team exclusively dedicated to the provision of consulting services starting during the transaction phase, continuing through the design and construction phase and ending during the operations maintenance phase.

When working for the sponsors, we undertake full asset due diligence. This includes residual life assessments and lifecycle analysis, reviewing and optimising operation and maintenance strategies, and developing CapEx, lifecycle costs and OpEx forecasts.

When working for lenders, our works includes reviewing our Sponsors’ technical solutions (design, construction, operation and maintenance), construction schedules, CapEx, whole life cost and OpEx forecasts in order to assess residual risks after allocation to the various project parties. These projects can be greenfield and brownfield.

We provide our services globally, with a focus on Europe and Africa.

We are a team of 5, composed mainly of engineers with legal and project finance capabilities. We are all driven by our contribution to major infrastructure projects. We have a “seller-doer” state of mind and we value team work.

Your role :

You will strengthen our advisory team by supporting our capability to deliver our mandate. You will also contribute to our business development activities.

Reporting to the team leader, you will be responsible for the following:

Project Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of technical advisory assignments on infrastructure PPP projects, privatisation or private to private transactions (secondary asset sale, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions);

  • Direct multidisciplinary project teams of in-house and external specialists. Manage our resources to deliver our clients’ expectations (timely and efficient completion of quality deliverables);

  • Manage complex projects, lead/conduct the report-writing process and perform reviews of your peer’s work products;

  • Manage financial performances of these projects in line with AECOM’s financial reporting, project reviews and profitability targets.

Business Development

  • Generate new business through marketing initiatives and develop long-term business relationships;

  • Work closely with the PPP team leadership to develop and implement strategies to grow the business;

  • Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts;

  • Increase awareness of the Team’s capabilities within AECOM and actively network with other AECOM professionals across all business lines.

  • Actively engage in development of team;

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience in technical due diligence services and/or management experience of infrastructure/energy projects (experience in energy and utilities distribution/storage and/or renewable energy preferred);

  • Master’s degree in engineering, project finance or other relevant academic background. International degrees welcome.
