Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Subcontract Manager for our Paducah, KY location.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Business Acumen

  • Skilled in the development of commercial strategies.

  • Ability to identify subcontracting processes/ actions that may impact the project.

  • Knowledgeable of construction means, methods, and sequences.


  • Prepares and implements subcontracting plans.

  • Fully knowledgeable on the types of contracts to be used for the services required.

  • Reviews and approves negotiation strategy and leads negotiation meetings.

  • Works with the Legal Department to determine prime contract flow-downs and to resolve subcontractor exceptions to terms and conditions.

  • Reviews and approves client consent packages, where applicable.

  • Reviews and approves subcontracts.

  • Resolves subcontractor disputes/claims.

  • Provides subcontracting support to company proposals in obtaining pricing from subcontractors and developing strategies and plans.

  • Seeks appropriate counsel from upper management as required to meet complex project issues.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Economics or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.


  • Minimum of 10 years of subcontract management related experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous site/field subcontracting experience

  • Previous experience negotiating major contracts

  • Previous power industry contracts experience

  • Proficient in one or more of the following areas: Purchasing, Expediting, Transportation or Site Materials Management
