Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Ottawa, Ontario office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage preliminary design and detail design assignments for roads, integrated road-municipal services, transit, and grade separation projects

  • Assemble, direct, co-ordinate project team

  • Monitor schedules and budgets, and prepare invoices

  • Prepare correspondence, reports, specifications, and meeting minutes

  • Liaise with client Project Managers. Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public

  • Perform business development and marketing activities to current and potential clients to generate future business

  • Lead or assist in the preparation of proposals, qualifications and Expressions of Interest

  • Prepare reports and other documentation for clients, review agencies, and the public

  • Assign, direct, and review work undertaken by technical staff to ensure that studies and projects are completed accurately

  • Complete project management and business development responsibilities including financial, schedule, and scope management of projects

  • Manage staff for technical project activities, assist with staff development, and provide input and recommendations relative to staff needs, performance and rewards

  • Organize, prepare for, attend, participate in, present, lead, and/or take minutes for Project Team and other technical meetings, both internally and with the client

  • Contribute as team member responsible for civil / transportation components of projects managed by others

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in road / highway / transit infrastructure engineering and project management

  • P. Eng. designation or eligible

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in road / highway / transit infrastructure engineering and project management

  • Professional Project Manager (PMP) certification or equivalent

  • Strong project management, technical and analytical skills

  • Credible knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and transit design standards

  • Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals

  • Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills

  • Experience in leading a team of technical specialists and professional engineers

  • Municipal and Transportation project lead experience

  • MTO experience

  • Experience and desire to market our services to new and existing clients
