About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Orange, CA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical expertise in the design of large diameter pipeline systems for Water, Recycled Water and Waste Water Facilities

  • Ability to lead project teams and provide direction to subordinate staff; develop project scope of services, prepare technical strategies, and lead proposal/business development activities

  • Lead a project team in the development of technical documents including plans, specifications and estimates for project ranging in fee value of $5M to $15M

  • Negotiate project contracts and identify potential risk items

  • Coordinate projects between multiple disciplines and maintain the quality of the work performed to the satisfaction of the Client

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • California Professional Engineer, Civil

  • 10+ years of experience in the design and rehabilitation of large pipelines

  • Specific knowledge with the repair, refurbishment, and replacement of Pre-stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP)

  • 5+ years of project management with progressive responsibility along with the ability to prepare proposals to clients within the field of expertise

  • Ability to support national project pursuits

  • Experience in leading and developing project teams

  • Willingness to mentor less experienced staff including but not limited to prepare training materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the use of advanced water modeling software

  • Ability to serve as a Regional/National Technical Resource

  • Focus on the development of major water clients including Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and San Diego County Water Authority
