About the Business Line
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.
Due to continued growth, AECOM has an opportunity for a Senior Plumbing Engineer to join our established Building and Places team in Orange, CA. The successful candidate will provide technical competence in plumbing engineering to our current and future projects and demonstrate a suitable blend and balance of technical and non-technical responsibilities including project management, technical leadership and staff management.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with other discipline engineers, architects, designers and project managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team
Promoting mentor / mentee relationships through support and collaboration with various levels of staff
Contributing significantly to the successful design, production, coordination and management of projects
Communicating effectively with clients and internal team members in the design and specification development of building plumbing systems
Ensuring that engineering deliverables (i.e. drawings, specifications, reports) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in building systems engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer
Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes
Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
Must have well-rounded background in plumbing project design and delivery to meet various challenges
Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills
Willing to travel as required
Knowledge of sustainable plumbing design and basic LEED building practices
Experience on large federal government, laboratory, or healthcare/ life science projects
Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD)
LEED Accredited Professional Credential
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
