Job Summary

We are seeking a talented professional to join our Orange, CA team to manage our marketing and proposal activities in Orange and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have expertise in writing, managing and developing winning proposals and presentations.

This position’s primary responsibilities are to lead proposals, assemble presentations and produce documents in response to formal and informal client solicitations. Secondary responsibilities will include supporting pre-positioning business development activities, updating information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, participating in go/no go decision making discussions and coordinating internally on various marketing tasks as assigned by management. Working collaboratively with our Regional Business Line Leader for Water, this position will prioritize proposal activities in the area to achieve successful outcomes. This position will coordinate effectively with internal and external parties on pursuits while maintaining a partnership oriented mindset and professional demeanor.

Our clients in this area are often interested in alternative delivery concepts. It is desired that the successful candidate has a strong understanding of alternative delivery pursuits and integrated delivery across multi-discipline teams.

The desired skills for this candidate include strong writing/editing abilities with exceptional organization and time management capabilities to meet demanding deadlines while maintaining a focus on details for compliant submittals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years’ experience, ideally in the A/E industry

  • Experience in developing, producing, and leading proposals, statements of qualifications, and other client-facing documents

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 6/Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Adobe Acrobat

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to develop proposal outline, schedule and task assignments for compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements

  • Experience and skill at reviewing, organizing, translating and editing written documentation to improve clarity

  • Page layout and graphic presentation of documents to amplify and simplify the communication of themes and technical details

  • Ability to conduct final QA/QC check, including proofreading for grammar and RFP compliance and checking for conformance to established strategies and plans

  • Ability to operate autonomously and/or within a team setting to facilitate proposals and other tasks to completion

  • Effective and personable verbal and written communication skills

  • Works well under pressure, good time management skills, detail oriented, extremely organized and great follow through, and strong team building skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to take initiative in anticipating tasks and to look for ways to add value to the process/procedures

  • This position will include some local/regional travel between our LA Metro Offices – including Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the A/E/C Industry working on proposals/presentations – for a firm similar to AECOM

  • Experience with Water/Wastewater/Water Resources industry knowledge and experience are preferred

  • Experience with large complex proposals with integrated delivery or alternative delivery methods

  • This is not a graphic design position but graphic design skills are preferred
