We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

The Orange, CA office of AECOM is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Water Business to support water, wastewater, and general building facilities for public and private clients. Some of our current projects include: water/wastewater treatment plants, pumps stations, reservoirs, and flow control facilities for all levels of governments and private developments. The Project Engineer will support work and coordinate with other EE and design teams throughout the West Region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Develop electrical plans and specifications for water and wastewater design projects

  • Assist or lead marketing efforts for electrical design work

  • Quality Control checks of other electrical engineer’s work

  • Construction phase services for electrical portion of projects

  • Field inspections and witnessing facility start-up testing and operations

  • Development of design reports and studies such as fault current, protective device co-ordination, arc-flash, voltage drop, grounding and lighting studies/calculations

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer

  • Experience in the design of electrical and control systems for water/wastewater facilities

  • Experience in the design and implementation of projects

  • Experience controlling budgets, project design, and conducting technical reviews

  • Proven team management skills with capability to work with a wide variety of individuals, and have the skills and abilities necessary to lead engineers, designers, and technical and support staff

  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and design for multiple projects

  • Comfortable in conducting internal and external meetings and be a quick-thinker who brings creative and fresh initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (Electrical) for the state of California
