About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
This position is contingent on the award of contract.
AECOM has been tasked to provide environmental protection support in the form of Environmental Protection Managers to support environmental related activities occurring within the Middle East and around the world. The successful candidate will work in austere environments around the world.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Within assigned area of responsibility, Environmental Protection Manager/Advisor is expected to independently render advice, take action, and carry out assignments
Notifies chain of command of controversial issues or issues of high interest along with recommended course(s) of action
Manages and coordinates with assigned Environmental Protection Specialists, as necessary
As a technical expert in the application of environment protection concepts, principles and application of processes, evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing environmental protection activities and proposes new and/or revised processes or activities as required, or as applicable
Evaluates the continuing need for balances between the most desirable application of engineering principles and the exigencies of costs, priorities, schedules, and supporting assets
Plans, coordinates, evaluates, and reviews all phases of assigned environmental protection program/project control including the interpretation of and compliance with applicable criteria, regulations, policies, and procedures. Reviews and analyzes program/project planning, design, and related material and program/project activities and keeps currently informed on all phases of planning and implementation
6+ years of related environmental technical experience
Experience working with burn pits, incinerators, medical waste, air/ash sampling, waste management, recycling, balers, hazardous waste/materials, and or water/wastewater (drinking, lagoons, treatment plants, etc.)
Current Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
Previous experience working overseas supporting the U.S. military
Previous experience working in Kuwait, Afghanistan, or Iraq
Professional Certifications in Environment and Safety
