Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Environmental Planner for immediate employment in either Oakland or San Francisco, CA. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Serve as Project Manager for a variety of resource management and infrastructure projects, including power, water, transportation, and development-related projects

  • Lead environmental planning work, and support the development of environmental documents and studies in compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and other state and federal environmental regulations

  • Oversight, authority and accountability for larger, more visible, complex projects. Oversee multiple projects simultaneously within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business

  • Provide leadership in managing staff performance and mentoring personnel

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning or related field 8+ years' experience successfully supporting or managing CEQA/NEPA documents and associated technical studies Experience as Project Manager or Deputy Manager roles on environmental planning projects Experience preparing CEQA and/or NEPA environmental documents with extensive knowledge of current regulations and guidance Understanding of the environmental regulatory framework in California, including applicable state and federal laws Strong research and analytical abilities Strong written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously Actively participated in management of environmental projects including client interaction, schedule and budget controls, and invoicing Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have 15+ years experience in CEQA/NEPA document preparation and environmental permitting; experience working with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission or other City and County of San Francisco agencies as well as regulatory agencies in Northern California
