About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
AECOM’s Water Business Line in the San Francisco Bay Area is looking for a Project Engineer to join our firm to support projects in the areas of wastewater and water utilities, municipal infrastructure and potentially general building facilities for public and private clients. Some of our current projects include: water/wastewater treatment plants, pumps stations, reservoirs, and infrastructure for governments and private developments. The Project Engineer will ultimately support work and coordinate with other electrical engineers and design teams throughout the West Region.
The initial project for this position will an engaging assignment on the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP), a $7 billion, multi-year program to upgrade the City’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities. The selected candidate will provide electrical engineering support to the City’s Wastewater Enterprise at its Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant (SEP). This is the City’s largest plant, where over $2 billion in process improvements are being implemented in the initial phase of the Program. This is a minimum one-year assignment.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical third party review of wastewater design deliverables for improvement projects under the SSIP.
Provide technical support and coordination for O&M interests in the development of improvement projects at the SEP from planning through construction
Serve as the Program Consultant’s electrical engineering lead at the SEP
Other ancillary responsibilities, outside of/after this initial assignment may include:
Develop electrical plans and specifications for water and wastewater design projects
Assist or lead marketing efforts for electrical design work
Quality Control checks of other electrical engineer’s work
Construction phase services for electrical portion of projects
Field inspections and witnessing facility start-up testing and operations
Development of design reports and studies such as fault current, protective device co-ordination, arc-flash, voltage drop, grounding and lighting studies/calculations
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering
Experience in the design of electrical and control systems for water/wastewater facilities
Experience controlling budgets, project design, and conducting technical reviews
Experience in supporting operations and maintenance is highly desirable
Strong client relation skills, including working as an embedded staff on the client site
Must demonstrate initiative in problem solving and brining value to the client
