Job Summary


The position is responsible for performing moderate to complex internal audits of company financial and operational business systems and processes along with compliance evaluations of costs incurred.


  • Participate or lead audits for the purpose of assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of business controls and procedures.

  • Participate or lead entrance and exit meetings with internal and external auditees.

  • Perform engagement level risk assessments and develop detailed audit testing programs.

  • Prepare sufficient and competent supporting audit documentation.

  • Responsible for the development of audit recommendations, status tracking and evaluation of corrective actions.

  • Summarize individual audit results and prepare audit reports to senior and executive management.

  • Participate or lead routine to moderately complex internal audits of subcontractors in accordance with contract and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Perform audit activities in accordance with department and professional standards.

  • Complete audit assignments within established time frames.

  • Assist in the continuous improvement of department procedures and the audit work product.

  • Support the LEAN Program by identifying and working to eliminate waste from work processes.

Minimum Requirements

Job-Related Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting or other appropriate discipline, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master’s degree in accounting or business administration preferred.

  • A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience with at least four years of audit or internal control evaluation experience.

  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, OMB Green Book) is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge, skills and experience in performing internal control evaluations and reporting results.

  • Knowledge of Government contracting requirements including Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.

  • Knowledge, skills and experience with audit software tools such as TeamMate and ACL is strongly preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of software applications including MS Office including Word and Excel is required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional auditing or related certification (CPA, CIA, or CISA).
